On July 9, the closing ceremony for the 2026 “Experiencing China” Summer Camp for University Students of the Confucius Institute at Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages, was held at Southeast University in conjunction with the "Discover Jiangsu · Youth E-Walk, Carbon-Seeking Future" International Summer School. Sheng Xuemei, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages, attended the ceremony, along with representatives from Southeast University’s Office of International Education at Southeast University attended the event.
A video shown at the ceremony highlighted memorable moments from the ten-day program. Two campers from Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages shared their reflections in Chinese. They noted that each attempt to speak in class pushed them beyond their comfort zones, and that the home visits—making dumplings and chatting with local families—gave them a vivid and personal glimpse of China beyond what textbooks offer. The experience, they said, turned them from observers into participants, and left them with a lasting impression of Nanjing's historical depth and China's contemporary dynamism.
At the close of the ceremony, the campers received certificates of completion. Their pottery cups, handmade during a workshop, were also presented to them as keepsakes symbolizing lasting friendship and warmth.
Organized by SEU’s College of International Education, the ten-day program combined traditional cultural experiences, observations of China's contemporary development, and explorations of modern technology. It serves as another practical initiative by the two universities to deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and promote mutual learning and understanding among young people.
